A spot answers “where should I stop?”
It identifies a viewpoint, photo location or other listed place. Its page locates the point but does not prove vehicle access, parking permission or opening hours. Check these beforehand.
A route answers “which path was travelled?”
A shared trace shows an outing selected by its author. It can contain separate segments and hide private areas. It provides neither current access guarantees nor instructions at every junction.
Navigation answers “how do I get there?”
Prepare directions in a suitable navigation tool. Check your destination and stops before driving. Revly then records the journey actually made, which may differ from the planned itinerary.
Use each at the right time
Start with places or a route idea, prepare directions, then record the outing. Afterwards, keep the stops you want to revisit and publish only what you choose to make public.
